With today being Father's Day, my daughter and I were still trying to figure out what we were going to do for my husband last night. I was on the phone with a great friend talking around 11 pm last night and realized no one had checked the mail. My daughter ran out to the mailbox and came in with a package addressed to me. The odd thing was we were talking about friend's with cancer and health problems and something was said about "pieces to the puzzle."
I had just gotten into the package to see it was a puzzle piece. Not only that, but it was a ring. Confused, I looked at the paper work and it is an Autism Awareness ring. That's right, the next day was father's day, but yet my husband got me a puzzle piece ring for our son. It's 10kt white gold, so I don't have to take it off just like I don't remove my wedding rings.
He was sleeping so I couldn't thank him right then. I teared up as I slid it on my finger and it fit perfectly. I was sure to thank him this morning and to wish him a Happy Father's Day as he left for work. Now, to come up with a surprise for him.
